A message from Study Sphere’s Owner & Founder, Talin Kashian

“More so than moving minds, I’m concerned with moving the hearts of my students. Watching them have that ‘aha’ moment when their point of view is forever changed. That spark of imagination and wonder is the reason I teach.”

I started Study Sphere in 2016 with a simple goal: to help students discover their unique voice and full potential through personalised, one-on-one tutoring. Since then, my team and I have supported over 300 primary and high school students across a wide range of academic goals.

Our philosophy is summed up in our tagline: “Comprehensive Tutoring Tailored to Each Bright Mind.” While classroom teachers do incredible work, the reality is that with an average of 23 students per class in NSW, it’s nearly impossible to meet every student’s individual needs.

That’s where we come in. One-on-one tutoring lets us identify each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style — and build a program that grows with them. When students feel understood and supported, they gain more than just knowledge. They gain confidence, clarity, and a belief in their own potential.

I invite you to explore our website and see how we help students excel — not just in school, but in life. Our testimonials page is a reminder of how much we’ve achieved together. To all the students and families who’ve been part of our journey, thank you. You are the heart of Study Sphere, and it’s a privilege to be part of your story.

If you’re ready to talk about how we can help your child, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Is tutoring right for my child?

Whether your child is falling behind, doing okay, or topping their class — one-on-one tutoring can make a big difference. We’ve seen it improve confidence, motivation, and results across the board.

The school system does its best, but with 23+ students in a class, it’s hard to give everyone the personal support they need. That’s where we come in.

What subjects and year levels do you tutor?

We specialise in English tutoring from primary school all the way up to HSC. I have also taught high school drama classes and am a NYFA graduate. Just get in touch with what your child needs — if we can’t help directly, we’ll do what we can to point you in the right direction.

What if my child doesn't want tutoring?

That’s more common than you’d think! Some students are shy, lack confidence, or are just over the idea of more “school” after school.

Where needed we can take things slow, and might even start with just a 30-minute trial session to gently ease them in. Once they realise tutoring is about support (not pressure), many come around.

It also helps to explain how tutoring can actually save time on schoolwork and exam prep — giving them more time for other things they enjoy.

How does online tutoring work?

We run our lessons via Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc. Your child just needs a device with a camera and mic, and a quiet space to work.

We use tools like shared documents, live editing, and screen sharing to keep the lesson interactive. It’s smooth, simple, and surprisingly personal.

Do students learn just as well online?

Yes — and in many cases, even better. Online tutoring lets us dive straight into the work, and students often feel more focused and relaxed in their own space.

We’ve had students who didn’t thrive in face-to-face sessions completely turn a corner online. For some, it removes distractions and performance pressure — and that’s a game-changer.

Do you provide workbooks or set worksheets?

Nope! We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring. Every lesson is tailored to the student — built around their schoolwork, challenges, and goals. We don’t teach from off-the-shelf books because we know that real progress comes from personalisation, not photocopies.

Do students miss out by not being in a group setting?

School provides that group environment — and that’s really important. We’re not here to replace school.

But one-on-one tutoring gives students something group learning can’t: full attention, personalised help, and the freedom to go at their own pace. The two approaches work best together.

How many students do you take on at once?

We’re a boutique tutoring agency by choice — not a mass tutoring service.

We keep our student numbers intentionally low so we can give each learner the care, attention, and tailored support they deserve. It’s about doing things properly, not rushing to scale.

If we’re ever at capacity, we’ll be upfront with you. That way, you’re never just a number.

How do payments and bookings work?

We usually start with one or two intro sessions to make sure it’s a great fit.
After that, you can book a block of lessons if you’d like — but there’s no lock-in. Cancel anytime and we’ll refund any unused lessons in full.

It’s worth noting that we do also offer a discount when you sign up multiple children, pay for a full term in advance, or refer a friend who signs up to our services.
